The cheapest automation in a trades business answers the phone

Before the CRM, before the dashboard, before anything with the word “platform” in it: work out what an unanswered call costs you, then fix that.

If you run a roofing, plumbing, HVAC or electrical business, you already know the number that matters. It is not your website conversion rate. It is how many calls rang out this week while everyone was on a job.

Do the arithmetic once

Take your average job value. Take your rough close rate on inbound calls. Multiply. That is what one missed call is worth in expectation. Now count the missed calls on a normal week — your phone system will tell you, and the number is almost always higher than the owner guesses.

Most trades businesses we talk to are losing several thousand dollars a month to a phone that nobody could get to. Not to bad marketing. To a phone.

Why the usual fixes do not stick

An answering service costs per call and the person answering knows nothing about your trade, so the notes come back useless. Voicemail is worse than nothing — a homeowner with water coming through a ceiling does not leave a message, they call the next number. Hiring an office person works but is a real salary against uncertain volume, and they still go home at five.

What we actually build

A voice agent sits in front of your existing number and answers on the first ring, at any hour. It asks the questions you would ask: what is the problem, what is the address, how urgent, is it a rental or owner-occupied. It offers real slots from your calendar, respecting drive time. It books, confirms by text, and drops the notes into your system. Anything it does not understand, or anyone who asks for a person, goes straight through.

It is the least glamorous thing we sell and it is the one that pays back fastest, usually inside the first month. If the arithmetic above gave you an uncomfortable number, start there and ignore everything else on this site until it is fixed.

Tell us the one task you wish would do itself.

Send it over. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth automating, what it would take, and what it would cost — before you spend anything.
